EDI Training for Staff
The Trust has a comprehensive Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) training and development programs. The programs are designed to meet the specific needs of staff and culture of the organisation. The Inclusion team, composed of members with expertise knowledge in equity, diversity, and inclusion, provides trust wide and tailored training for different teams and staff groups in the organisation.
The training is delivered in the form of workshops, webinars, or Trust intranet resources that support specific EDI topics. The training covers a range of topics such as unconscious biases, cultural competence, relevant laws, intersectionality, bias and discrimination, communication and collaboration, creating inclusive environments and allyship. The sessions include case studies, group discussions, and interactive activities.
There are numerous online resources that provide flexibility in terms of timing and accessibility, allowing individuals to learn at their own pace. In addition to the training provided by the inclusion team, staff in the Trust can access training from NHS England including external professional resources, workshops, conferences, or online courses/frameworks specific to meet gaps in their knowledge and their professional group.
All the training on offer are listed on the Trust intranet page with links to book. The Trust intranet page also promotes external EDI training resources and programs.
The Trust has established staff networks that focus on specific diversity dimensions such as race, gender, disability or LGBTQ+ issues. These groups contribute to EDI training sessions or resources to educate colleagues, promote inclusive practices and cultural competences.
