From the 31st March 2022 the Healthcare Databases Advanced Search (HDAS) platform will be decommissioned by NICE.
You can find evidence on a topic of your choice and access full text articles by searching NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. This is an easy to use, effective discovery tool that searches all the resources made available to you by Health Education England and your NHS Trust. This tool is recommended for simple and quick searches. To access it, please log in with your NHS OpenAthens account. For help accessing and using this resource please see the help guide.
For complex topics or for a more comprehensive search you should perform an in-depth search using bibliographic databases available from the providers' websites: Ovid, EBSCO and ProQuest. For a list of databases and their content coverage click here
You can access these databases from the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. There are links to them on the homepage, beneath the search box. Remember to log in to your NHS OpenAthens Account. You can register here https://openathens.nice.org.uk/ for an OpenAthens account.
To help you use the new search interfaces we have collated training materials for each platform.
ProQuest will allow you to search the following databases: APA PsycArticles, APA PsychInfo, British Nursing Index and others.
If you would like to learn how to search these, you can sign up for training here. To request a Literature Search please complete the “Request a Literature Search” form.
If you want to browse the online journal collection that’s available to you, log in to the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub and click on the ‘Browse Journals’ link at the top of the page. You will need to sign in with your NHS OpenAthens account.
